(Even More) Reading Challenges for 2012

Because I haven't even begun to over-extend myself, I have decided to participate in three...that's right Four more reading challenges. Luckily, most of these challenges overlap so I won't be a complete and total social recluse as I lock myself into quiet rooms to read for hours on end.

The good old Goodreads Reading Challenge! I am truly challenging myself this year by trying to read 300 books. I'm going to say that it's a pretty reasonable amount when I have read over 150 books in the less than 6 months I've been blogging about them. We will see though...I'm probably just crazy and will fail epically...but cheers for going big! :)

Another challenge that I found is a really cool one...at least to me. It's called the European Reading Challenge 2012! The Challenge is hosted by Rose City Reads, and basically you tour Europe via novels! There are multiple levels of participating and I plan on being a 5 Star (Deluxe Entourage) tourist, with a side of Agrotourismo, Youth Hostel, and Culture Vulture. You won't know what any of that means, but its a fabulous and  fun challenge and if you wanna learn more or participate head over to RCR and sign up!

I'm also participating in the Witches and Witchcraft Reading Challenge hosted by Melissa's Eclectic Bookshelf! I will participate as a Crone (16-20) because I already have a crap ton of witchy books on my TBR pile. I need some good re-reads like the Sweep series too... If you like the paranormal or witches try to challenge yourself this year by participating! My favorite witches are Kelley Armstrong's Savannah Levine and Paige Winterburn so give them a chance if you're already participating...

The Final (maybe) challenge I'm planning on participating in this year is the 2012 ABC Reading Challenge! This year the challenge is hosted by Gripped Into Books, Cicely Loves Books and Book Geek Central.  I was participating unofficially last year, and the only letters I left out were Y and X! I was so close!!! This year, I'm going to officially participate AND I'm starting off with both Z and X this week! BAM! That way the only one I'll probably have trouble with is Y...where's Gilderoy Lockhart's Year with the Yeti when you need it???

Book Chick City Challenges for 2012

I've decided to add two more challenges to my list this year. I'm up to 5 right now so I might have to stop signing up or I'm bound to get seriously overwhelmed. Whatever. I can handle it.
These two challenges are hosted by Book Chick City. I already read a lot of speculative fiction, and since I read 100+ books in under 6 months this year, I feel like these challenges will be easy to complete.

Obviously my goal for 100+ book challenge will be more than 100 books.
As for the Speculative Romance Challenge, I plan on completing the highest level possible.
Four Sexy Archangels: Read 24 Speculative Romance novels in 2012
Speculative Romance can be in many different genres:

 - Paranormal romance
 - Dark fantasy romance
 - Urban fantasy romance
 - Steampunk romance
 - Sci-fi romance
 - Apocalyptic romance

So that's that! Let's see how many more challenges I will foolishly decide to join before the year is up. Wish me luck!

2012 TBR Pile Challenge

Hey guys! I just thought I would let you know about another challenge I've decided to participate in for 2012. It's the 2012 TBR Pile Challenge! Most of you darling followers are also book bloggers like me, or at least avid readers, and we ALL know how high the "To Be Read" pile can get at times. Amazing new books keep coming out, and the books we swore we would get to by Thursday end up under a random stack of books never to be seen for months. Well, this challenge is to help those books find the light of day. It's hosted by many fantastic people, the best one being Evie from Bookish....she's so awesomesauce it hurts to even look at her. Here's the deets!

Welcome to 2012 TBR PILE Reading Challenge!!!

We all have those books. We buy them, win them, they're gifted to us.. Then we put them up on a bookshelf and there they stay, collecting dust, waiting for the time when we'll finally decide to pick them up..

  • The Host by Stephanie Meyer
  • Firelight and Vanish by Sophie Jordan
  • The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
  • The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen

I think it can be done :) SO fellow bloggers, feel free to hop on over to Evie's blog and join up! I'm sure you want to get rid of your TBR pile, and what a better way to do it than winning prizes and bonding with fellow bloggers?

Science Fiction Challenge Sign up!

So I know it's very VERY early...but I have decided that I wanna participate in the Sci-Fi challenge over at Working for the Mandroid. It's a pretty easy challenge, so I don't fear it like some of those other ones that make me read like 300 books...I haven't really been into Science Fiction much lately and I kind of miss it...SO Here is my introduction post. Signups are up and you should do it to! Just 12 books and you will be broadinig your horizons as well as your minds! *Says in a Professor Trelawney voice*... Cool? Cool :)
