Follow Friday

Today is Follow Friday hosted by the fabulous Parajunkee! It's basically a way for us bloggers to get to know one another and to find new friends and followers! This week's question is:

Q. Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?

Wow...SO hard. J.K. Rowling for one.If she hasn't already, she will probably get sick of all the adoring fan love that comes her way, but I would just love to ask her about the story and how she created a world that seems so real, so amazing, so wonderful, that we had to re-create it in theme park form :) Not to mention try to pry out of her the information about ANY future projects

I would also love to talk to Laurell K. Hamilton. She really intrigues me not only as an author, but as a person. She is the kind of person that I would probably be afraid to just walk up to on the streets due to her penchant of wearing leather and fairy masks and things like that. She would probably look at me...the flighty blonde crazy girl that I am, scoff and walk as quickly as she could in the other direction. I would love to ask her about her ideas on polyamorous relationships. In both of her fantastic series, her protagonist has a veritable harem of hot men to choose from. I kind of feel like Ms. Hamiltion must be a sexual deviant to be writing the way she does in her books and her blogs...it would probably be an extremely awkward dinner for both me and Ms. Hamilton(not to mention poor Ms. Rowling while we were talking about this...), but I am honestly curious about the person behind the books.

The third and final Author would have to be Stephen Kings. He's so odd, and awesome, and twisted, and dark...and just about everything I like. I used to get dirty looks from my teacher in high school who told me that anyone who enjoyed reading Stephen King was either disturbed or had a sick mind...to be able to talk to the man who wrote The Stand, and Desperation, and the Dark Tower series. He has this way of writing that takes complexity to a whole new level...plus him and Laurell would have a smashing good time talking aboout blood, guts, gore and sex :)

Awesome...Dinner anyone? :)
Happy Friday!

  1. Stephen King sure would be interesting to meet - I'd like to know if he's as twisted in person as he is in his books!

  6. Hello! A new follower hopping by!

And oh, I love your answers and motivations! I too have your first 2 picks (in the same order, lol) and I would like to meet them both for similar reasons! LKH definitely intrigues me too! And, of course, I adore her writing. Stephen King would also be really interesting! Although I haven't read too much by him yet sadly. I know my dad loves his books! But for his personality, I still think he would be very interesting to meet!

Happy weekend! My full answer can be found here!

  10. Hi. Happy Belated FF from a new follower. Interesting choices. I have to admit having similar questions about Laurell K. Hamilton. I was a fan of the Anita Blake series until about book 12, after which I was turned off by how it seemed to have devolved into vampire smut. Still, her books will always hold a place in my heart as the ones that got me into the vampire genre.
