Guest Interview and Giveaway with Megan Curd!

Today I am so excited to be part of the blog tour for Megan Curd's new book Bridger! That's right, welcome to stop number 3 on the Bridger Blog Tour! Bridger is an extremely unique book regarding the idea of Changelings, and the Fey. It has a TON of action and a ridiculous amount of crazy characters that keep the story rolling. As part of the tour, I am lucky enough to have the first part of Megan's interview here for you today!

1) When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I actually never intended to be a writer. I had a friend who encouraged me to write, and so after she pushed me, I tried. BRIDGER was the result, so it's a good thing she told me to write! :) After watching friend's reactions and having people tell me how much they enjoyed the book, I realized how much fun I truly had writing, and that's when I knew I wanted to write.

2) Do you have a routine that you use to get into the right frame of mind to write?
I really don't. If there was one, I'd say it's going to Acoustic Cafe and getting a turtle mocha to drink and their Texas Chili to eat. I love the atmosphere at Acoustic, and it gets me in the right frame of mind. I don't "need" to be there to write, but I do enjoy it.

3) Where do you get your ideas or inspiration for your characters?
A lot of personality traits for my characters are pulled from people in my life. I enjoy infusing my life into my characters. Sometimes a character is just so loud, there's no way I could ever not write for them. My process is pretty organic, so I pull from loads of different places.

4) Who would you consider your favorite author and why?
JK Rowling, because she is an absolutely incredible author. She will pull you in and make even the most incredible idea believable, and that's what I would love to be able to do. She's also able to make you feel for her characters, be them good or bad. To be able to do that is a gift, and I can only hope to be a fraction as effective at it as she is. She's truly an inspiration for my writing.

5) What do you like to do when you are not writing?
My son is my world, and my family and friends are so important to me. They are huge parts of my life. I love to snowboard in the winter, I float the local river with friends during the summer, and I play video games when I'm not busy with everything else. :) I try to stay pretty active. I enjoy being busy!

Awesome! I'm so excited to be sharing in on this tour and getting to know Megan a little bit better! I too have been deeply affected by J.K. Rowling :) ANYWAYS....because Megan is SO generous, she will be giving away a free e-copy of her book Bridger to a lucky follower on the blog today!  All you have to do is leave a comment below with your name and a way to contact you! That's it! Also, if you would like to earn an extra point, comment on my review of Bridger below! Make sure to leave a link in a separate comment!

Be sure to stop by some of the other tour stops as the month goes on! You can win a copy of the book at EVERY stop along the way!
