My Book Boyfriend: Connal Maccon

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend...
~~~
Today's book boyfriend is from one of my absolute favorite Steampunk series! It's the manly, the brawny, the super sexy supernatural...
Lord Conall Maccon!
Lord Conall Maccon hails from Gail Carriger's The Parasol Protectorate Series. He's an alpha werewolf, living in London...but comes from Scotland so he has the delightful brogue of a Scott in addition to his huge masculine werewolf bod. He may be incredibly sexy, but he's also a grumpy gills. The only person who can match him tooth and grumpy nail is his lady love- Alexia Tarrabotti.
Stats:
Name: Conall Maccon
Age: 200+
Location: London (Alpha of the Woosley werewolf pack)
Features: Entirely too sexy body, gorgeous chocolatey brown eyes, a permanent frown, and a true Scottsman temper..
"He nuzzled in at her neck, kissing and licking her softly just below her ear. "Just a moment, " he said. "I need a small reminder that you are here, you are whole, and you are mine."
Starring as my Conall Maccon is the delightful Scott Emslie. He's a super gorgeous model/actor and should definitely be in more things so I can stare at that gorgeous bod of his *drools*
Miss Tarabotti grinned. "You know, your intense dislike of my dear vampire friend could almost sound like jealousy if the idea were not so patently absurd. Now, listen, my lord, if you simply let me-"
Lord Maccon let go of her arm, stopped, turned, and, to her complete surprise, kissed her full on the lips.
The earl grabbed Miss Tarabotti's chin with one big hand and the small of her back with the other, pulling her toward him hard. He slanted his mouth over hers almost violently.
She jerked back. "What are you...?"
"Only way to keep you quiet," he grumbled, taking her chin in a firmer grip and planting his mouth atop hers once more.
It was not the kind of kiss Alexia had ever experienced before.
WOO! *Fans self* I absolutely ADORE Lord Maccon and Alexia.They are the perfect steampunk couple for me and I can't get enough. Have you read the Parasol Protectorate series? Does Lord Maccon make you SWOOOOONNNN?? Who do you think would play a great Conall Maccon?
My Book Boyfriend; Quince Fletcher
My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
Today's Book Boyfriend is a total bad boy! Gotta love those right? He's a motorcycle riding, sunglasses-wearing, sarcastic, bad-attitude hunk who may in fact be a merman. Who is this week's boy-toy do you ask? From the Fin's series by Tera Lynn Childs:
Quince Fletcher!
My Quince is played by Blair Redford, who you may recognize from ABC Family's "The Lying Game"...I wouldn't because I don't really watch ABC family...But I would definitely start if all of their actors are as preeetttyyyy as Blair :) Aside from his dashing good looks, he's apparently the funniest guy on the set, bringing the rest of the cast to tears and causing lots and lots of bloopers. Yay for the funny guy! As for the bookish part of MBB, Quince is absolutely amazing! He seriously makes my heart melt...despite being a tad to young for me...he's got it all! He picks on main character Lily in a "kindergarden crush" kind of way. You know..pulling her hair to get attention kind of thing, but at the same time he's so protective of her and really knows who she is and loves her for it. Plus...he DEFINITELY has a way with words. If real life 17 year olds talk like him there is no wonder that they're all 16-and-pregnant...lol!
“Oh, Lily," He says shaking his head. "I know about love. About wanting and dreaming and wishing with every part of your soul. I know enough to reconize the parts that are real and the parts that are only in my fantasy."He turns his head slightly to face me,
and I find myself saying,"L-like what?"
"Like when she cries and my heart tears in to little shreds, and all I can think of is making her forget the source of her sadness." His face is blank, emotionless. his words -and the underlying emotion bombarding me through the bond- more than make up for it. "That's real." My voice is barely a whisper when I ask, "And fantasy?"
"Believing she'll ever feel the same way.”
Aww! Poor Quince! Believe me, if Lily doesn't feel that way about you I will let you cry on my shoulder! But no...he's too much in love with her for that *simultaneously sighs and swoons* You gotta had it to the boy...he sure is persistent in his love, what with Lily practically hating his guts and fighting him the entire way...but things work out in the end...mostly because who could resist a guy who says things like this...
“I don't believe it,' Quince says with absolute certainty. ' I don't believe anything magical can make someone more in love.' [...] He looks me right in the eye as he says, 'Love is already the strongest magic in the world.”

Yeah...take a minute :) That's the fabulous Quince Fletcher everyone! Have you read the Fins series by TLC? (hah...TLC...interesting...) Does he make your heart happy or is he just way too persistent to be real?? Tell me who your book boyfriend is!

My Book Boyfriend (16) Kishan

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
This week's book boyfriend is...
Prince Kishan from Colleen Houck's Tiger Saga Series!
A few weeks ago, I featured the gorgeous Sahid Kapoor as Prince Ren from the Tiger Saga...however...I seem to have jumped the gun on who I'm in love with for the series. Ren's brother Kishan is just as gorgeous, and just as wonderful as Ren is...AND he's a tad darker and more dangerous than Ren. Your heart has to go out to a guy who's lost his lady-love to his big brother not once but TWICE. He's amazing, and strong, and romantic in his own kind of way...Ren may get Kelsey in the end, but if Kishan is looking, I'll be his new lady love! lol
“Okay, then I’ll just say I love you. There is nothing in this world more important to me than you are. I’m only content when you’re near. My whole purpose is to be what you need me to be. It’s not poetry, but it’s from my heart. Will that do?”
“I’m not the kind of man to bottle up my feelings, Kells. I don’t sit up in my room pining away, writing love poems. I’m not a dreamer. I’m a fighter. I’m a man of action, and it will take all of my self-control not to fight for this. When something needs to be done, I do it. When I feel something, I act on it. I don’t see any reason why Ren deserves to get the girl of his dreams and I don’t. It doesn’t seem fair that this happens to me twice.”
To play the part of my gorgeous, dark, angsty Kishan, I chose the Bollywood actor John Abraham. Sure, he's a little too old to pass for 17, but really...do you mind? I sure don't. He's suave, he's sexy, and he can pull off a black tiger with ease don't ya think? Check out Colleen Houck's Tiger Saga to see more from Kishan, and my old book boyfriend Ren...It takes a lot to get two book boyfriends with equal amounts of awesome from the same series, but Colleen definitely succeeds. I gotta love these two sexy Indian princes :)
My Book Boyfriend (15) Sven
Hey chicks! I know a few of you have actually already seen this post! I accidentally posted a book boyfriend last week while everyone took a week off...#facepalm! I didn't want you all to miss out on the awesomeness that is Sven so I kept him for another week...it's okay though...he's worth it!
My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
I'm going unconventional this week with a book boyfriend I doubt you've ever seen. Why is this? Well, he's not exactly center stage in any of the novels he's featured in. He's not a fighter, or a lover, or anything really. In fact, in the three books that I've read that he's in, I doubt he shows up for more than 3 pages total. He's kind of a side figure that sneaks in and out of the main character's life. He's not even a romantic interest for the MC...hes actually dating one of her best friends and just shows up at random parties and things. So who is this random man of mystery who actually isn't that important?
Sven from Louise Rennison's Georgia Nicholson Series!
Why I like him:
  • He's foreign...if you don't know by now that I'm an Xenophile(a person who is attracted to foreign peoples, cultures, or customs )...Then sorry darling, you haven't been paying any attention at all...
  • He's not afraid to get DOWNNN (I said get down...not go down...get your minds out of the gutter...)!..Dancing is HAWT...I don't care if he's doing the Macarena or the Y-M-C-A...Any kind of dancing by a smexy boy and I immediately wanna start doing the horizontal tango...tehe.
  • He's awkward. I have no idea why, but I am totally obsessed with awkward people...Not so awkward that they like...bite my nose when I go in for a kiss or something...but awkward enough to say and do odd things that make me laugh. Judging from Sven's mad dancing, he's not only totally awkward, but hilarious too.

Best Sven Moments:

"It was going to be difficult to get past the bouncers without them catching even one of us for being under-age. I quietly said to Rosie, Jas, and Sven,"Be really really cool." That's when Sven lifted me up under one of his huge Swedish-type arms and shouted at the bouncers,"Gut evening, I have the bird in the hand and one in the bushes,thank you!" and strode in. I don't know whether they let us in because we looked mature or whether they were so amazed at Sven they didn't even notice us girls."

"Dave the Laugh has been dancing with me a lot. He's a cool dancer. He even did a bit of mad dancing with Sven. I don't think he expected Sven to pick him up and kiss him on both cheeks, but he took it well. Just dangled there while Sven did his thing, twirling around two feet off the ground."

Bahah! Ohhh Sven! I chose Chris Egan from Letters to Juliet to be my Sven. It was actually really hard to find a model for him because when I think of hot scandinavians, all I can picture is Alexander Skarsgard, but of course he will always be Eric Northman to me so I had to find another hottie. Chris works...though he is a little young...It was surprisingly difficult to find a really tall sexy swedish boy...go figure.

Sven proves that supporting characters can be just as fun and equally as important as the main characters. For me, a book usually falls flat without the well...support...of the supporting characters. Even if the main character is the most complex, interesting, and fabulous person ever...I still won't enjoy the book as much if the side characters don't pop as well. The supporting characters enrich the lives and personalities of the Main Character by being able to do what they can't, and I just love me some Sven for his mad dancing skillz.

My Book Boyfriend: Prince Ren

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
This week's book boyfriend is:
Ren from Colleen Houck's Tiger's Curse Series!
Stats:
Name: Diren (Ren)
Title: Crown Prince
Age: 20 (for 300+ years)
Eyes: Deep Cobalt Blue
Build: Tall, and Lightly Muscled
Race: Indian/Japanese
Afflictions: Turns into a Tiger for all but 24 minutes of the day
Associates: A potentially evil brother who also turns into a tiger; Kelsey: "The Chosen One" to lift his curse; Mr. Kadam: a servant and friend who was also frozen from aging..though he doesn't change into a Tiger...
Descriptions:
"The white shirt he wore was unbuttoned at the neck. It set off his golden-bronze skin and his brilliant white smile, making him positively lethal to any woman who might cross his path. He’s like…like James Bond, Antonio Banderas, and Brad Pitt all rolled into one." -Tiger's Curse
"He looked young, in his early twenties. He was taller than me by a head and had a strong, well-developed trim body that was clothed in loose white cotton garments. His long-sleeved shirt was untucked and carelessly buttoned, revealing a smooth, well-built golden-bronze chest. His lightweight pants were rolled at the ankles, emphasizing his bare feet. Glossy black hair swept away from his face and curled slightly at the nape of his neck. His eyes were what riveted me the most. They were my tiger’s eyes, the same deep cobalt blue." -Tiger's Curse
As some of you know, I had a few misgivings about the series at first. For the first 100 pages or so of Tiger's Curse, I wasn't a very big fan. Well. That was because until that point, Ren had remained a Tiger, and I didn't get a chance to experience the amazing awesomeness that is Ren. He started to steal my heart from the moment he started protecting Kelsey, and just grew on me for the rest of the book. He's one of those characters that sneak up on you. His fierce protection of Kelsey was totally adorable, and he is confident without being an asshole. Gotta love him. You find yourself daydreaming about him at work and inexplicably hot and sweaty even though you're working in a freezer...wait, what? No of course that didn't happen to me...
“His eyes drifted leisurely back up to my face and he smiled at me appreciatively, 'Kelsey, when a man spends time with a beautiful woman, he needs to pace himself.' I quirked my eyebrow at him and laughed. 'Yeah, I’m a regular marathon alright.' He kissed my fingers. 'Exactly. A wise man never sprints…in a marathon.'"
"He leaned in close and whispered in my ear, "I know what you're thinking, and I'm not going to let you escape again. You can either take a seat and have dinner with me like a normal date," he grinned at his word choice, "or," he paused thoughtfully then threatened, "you can sit on my lap while I force-feed you.”
There are many different types of kisses. There's a passionate kiss of farewell like the kind Rhett gave Scarlett when he went off to war. The kiss of I-can't-be-with-you-but-I want-to-be---like Superman and Lois lane, There's the first kiss---one that is gentle and hesitant, warm and vulnerable. Then there's he kiss of possession---which was how Ren kissed me now."
For my Ren: I picked Sahid Kapoor. Mr. Kapoor is a gorgeous and delicious specimen of the male species, as well as a fantastic Bollywood actor. He apparently struggled to become an actor, but I say it was worth it. Especially if those struggles resulted in those tasty looking muscles...yummmm. He has yet to branch out of Bollywood, but I for one will be waiting in line for any movie he decides to do over here. Tiger indeed....grawwrrr..
It went beyond passion, beyond desire. His kiss was full of longing, need, and love, like all those other kisses. But, it was also filled with promises and pledges, some of which seemed sweet and tender while others seemed dangerous and exciting. Ren was taking me over like he was staking a claim.
So the delicious Sahid combo Ren is this week's book boyfriend. The body of a 17 year old and a real age of  300...every cougar's dream :) lol. What do you think of my fantastic Indian Prince?
My Book Boyfriend: Doyle
My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
This week's book boyfriend is:
Doyle: a.k.a Darkness

From Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry Series
I know I already did a book boyfriend post about Doyle, but he is seriously the most swoon-worthy guy in the history of hot guys. I was just starting out with blogging when I first featured him as my book boyfriend, and I feel like I didn't do him justice last time. I found an even sexxxayyyyier model and I re-read the entire series so that I could include (almost) each and every swoon worthy quote and moment that I could find.Actually, I lied. These quotes and moments are only from the first three books. That means that there are 5 more books of awesome Doyle quotes, so you will likely see him again. And just so you all know. He is MINE...I will not justify any of you stealing him. Or I WILL hunt you down. Please enjoy, because I certainly do. Without a doubt, Doyle flat out does it for me in every way shape and form. If I could have one wish, it would be that Doyle was real, and that he was mine.

Stats:
Name: Doyle
Nicknames: The Queen's Darkness, Darkness, Baron Sweet-Tongue
Age: Unknown...around 1000
Heritage: Mostly Royal Sidhe...with a bit of Phouka and Hound of the Hunt thrown in.
Jobs: Captain of the Queen's Guard, then Merry's Guard
Build: HUGE...in every aspect. Broad shoulders, rippling layers of muscles, and calloused hands from centuries sword-fighting. *shudders*

Doyle is exactly who and what Merry needs as a partner to rule. He's strong, he's smart, he's politically savvy, and he's dangerous. He is a king in truth and not just a figurehead. There are constant instances throughout the book where Merry is floundering, or struggling with something and then Doyle is there, exactly in the way she needs him to be, whether it's to catch bullets in his beautiful chest, supply advice, or simply hold her hand so she doesn't throw up the blood she just drank to secure a treaty with the goblins.
Descriptive Quotes:
The bedroom door opened soundlessly, and as if I'd conjured him by my thoughts, Doyle eased into the room. When Doyle wanted to, he moved like the fall of night itself, soundless, weightless, undetectable, until you realized the light was gone and you were alone in the dark with something you couldn't see.
Doyle stayed kneeling, half-naked, his hands limp and empty resting against his thighs, surrounded by a sea of his own hair. He should have looked helpless, or feminine or something, but he didn't. He was a piece of night come to life. He looked like something carved out of the elemental darkness, as if he had risen as one of the first things to ever draw breath, before light even thought to exist.
A huge reason that I love Doyle is that not only is he there for Meredith, but he is an amazing leader for the rest of the guards. He's like a combo dad/big brother figure and it makes him come off more powerful, more in-control, and just...better than any of the guards combined. There is a moment when he and Meredith both swear to protect the other guards over a sleeping Frost that just makes you catch your breath...it was SO powerful in such an understated way...you could practically feel the shape of the characters' destinies changing as these two made such a powerful oath...holy hotness...
"Say that you wish him dead and it will be so. Pick a body part of your choosing, and I will fetch it for you."
One thing that I think draws me to Doyle more than any others, is that he is almost identical to an ex-boyfriend of mine well..minus the rippling muscles, and swoon-worthy quotes...Regardless, Doyle reminds me of a guy I was with for about 6 years, who I had been best friends with for much longer, and who was the first guy I've ever fallen in love with. Doyle is depicted in such detail that I can pick out individual facial expressions and body language that describes my ex so well that it's like Laurell was using him as a template when writing Doyle. It isn't just Doyle's physical description that reminds me of the ex...(for our purposes we will now call my ex Jack )...Doyle likes to play the same mind games on Merry that Jack was so fond of pulling on me. For example, Doyle doesn't sleep with Merry for months, claiming that he wanted to intrigue her into finding him more special or some such nonsense...that is so totally a Jack-like move...he would do odd things like that to me all the time, and it seemed like he did them just to confuse me or get me to obsess over him. Despite all the games, Jack remains the single most significant relationship I've ever had, and because of that, Doyle just seems to come to life more than any character I've ever known...Plus he's more magical and sexy than Jack could ever be lol...I mean it's not every guy who can shape change parts of his body into animal form...when he says he's hung like a horse...well...he means it :P
Just Plain Doyle:

"Meredith." His voice was always low and dark like thick candied liqueur for the ear instead of the tongue. He said my name once, but for the first time in centuries his voice wasn't neutral. That one world held uncertainty, a question, and a hope. "Merry."He spoke my name once more, and it turned me around to face the bed and what lay waiting for me among the burgundy sheets.

He held me in his arms and spoke softly as I began to drift off.
"You do not mind that my grandmother was a hound of the wild hunt and my grandfather a phouka?"
"No." My voice was thick with sleep.
Then I asked, "Could I really end up having puppies?"
He paused. "...It is...unlikely."
Oh Doyle, you make me smile. In fact, there is no way he wouldn't make any woman smile. He's the perfect combination of all things you want in a man. He's strong but caring. He's loving but not clingy or jealous. He's build like a beast, and is willing to use those beastly muscles to either defend you to his last breath or leave you breathless. On top of that, he knows how to use a gun, a sword, knives, magic, pretty much any weapon ever invented...including his own...tehe.
I was almost asleep, when I felt him hold me tighter, as if I was his security blanket instead of the other way around...
*le sigh* Dearest, Darlingest, Doyle, You make my heart happy. I'm also making myself swoon all over the place just thinking about him so I think I'm going to have to go get the next Merry Gentry book off my shelf so I can get back to my darling Darkness. So what do you guys think of MY book boyfriend? Total hottie pants yes? Of course he is. :)

My Book Boyfriend (10) Elias

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
This week's book boyfriend is:
Elias from Carrie Ryan's Forest of Hands and Teeth Books
Physical Description:
Hair: Light Blonde
Eyes: Piercing Blue
Body-Type: Built, Tall and Wiry
Personal Stats:
Grew up in the Forest of Hands and Teeth
Has worked and trained as an unconsecrated killer
Knows about the world outside of Gabry's villiage
Has a dark secret and it involves someone from Gabry's past
This cutie hails from the second book in the world of The Forest of Hands and Teeth, The Dead Tossed Waves, The Dark and Hollow places, etc. Elias is kind of a mysterious figure for most of the second book. He ends up saving Gabry's life multiple times. He also knows much more about the world outside of the village where Gabry lives. He was a "Recruit" which means he was in charge of eliminating zombies and clearing out areas of forests for people to live in. This is a dangerous job, and most of the recruits didn't make it past their first year. Yet Elias has made it over 3 years and is now searching for someone from his past and the search leads him straight to Gabry
I love this series a lot. Carrie Ryan pretty much takes what my soul wants to say and then turns it into book form. Each book has a different narrator, which kind of bugged me at first, but I have since gotten used to. I haven't finished The Dark and Hollow Places, so I REALLY need to find out what happens to Elias and Gabry. Elias is such a sweetie. Not only does he save Gabry from the unconsecrated several times, he actually sacrifices himself (partially) to save her. That's dedication my friends! Plus he's such a sweet talker...
Totally Fantabulous Elias Quotes:
I can tell by the way he pulls me to himself, by the way he holds me as if he could push the pieces of me back together again, that it's Elias. I can tell by his smell and his strength and the way he leans his cheek against my hair that he's mine and I'm his.
"You know how you can know someone...or think you know them...but maybe you know them in one way? And then maybe something shifts. Maybe one day you hear them say something unexpected. Or hear the way they laugh and then suddenly you see them all over again. This time, maybe you see them as...beautiful."
I'm falling in love with you Gabrielle. Not wih the person you used to be, but you. I might not know how you've gotten every cut, scrape, or scar, but I see the girl you've grown to be, not the one they all think they know.
Isn't he just a cutie pants! The actor's name is Brett Davern and I first saw him on MTV's Awkward. He's super cute...if you're into that whole cougar thing. I kind of want to pat him on the head and give him a cookie...not something that my book boyfriends usually inspire, but still...I had to give him mad props for being such a smooth-talker. Elias is absolutely fantastic for Gabry and I hope things work out in the next book! So what about you ladies? Does Elias make you wish that he wasn't jailbait? Hey, this is a post-apocalyptic zombie world...I don't think the term jailbait applies any more :P
My Book Boyfriend (Dimitri Belikov)
My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
This week's book boyfriend is:
Dimitri Belikov from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series
“Wait until next time," he warned. "I'll do things that'll make you lose control within seconds.” Um...I think I might have just passed out for a second because of that quote...whew...I have ADORED Dimitri since book one of Vampire Academy. I have been on board with that series since the very beginning when I bought VA on the week it came out. I love that the series has really gained a following and is appreciated for it's awesomeness in a swollen genre...I think a good portion of the awesomeness is because of one Dimitri Belikov.

About Dimitri
  • He's  24 years old, has piercing blue eyes, and shoulder length dark brown hair
  • He's a hot foreigner from Siberia with a sexy Russian accent.
  • He can kick serious ass, and is hot as hell on the training and battlefield.
  • He's a dhampir and has super-strength and fast reflexes but doesn't need to drink blood to survive.
  • He's a teacher at St. Vladimir's Academy and coaches Rose personally in combat when she needs to catch up.
  • He likes reading...true, they are westerns, but a guy who likes to read=HAWT
"Roza. I did want you. I still do. I wish we could be together... If I let myself love you, I won't throw myself in front of her. I'll throw myself in front of you."
 “Yet, it had been Dimitri’s gentleness and thoughtfulness mixed with that deadliness that made him so wonderful. The same hands that wielded stakes with such precision would carefully brush the hair out of my face. The eyes that could astutely spot any danger in the area would regard me wonderingly and worshipfully, like I was the most beautiful and amazing woman in the world.”

Oh Dimitri...How I love thee...seriously...I was heartbroken when certain events occurred in the middle of this series. I love him so much and can't wait to see if he appears at all in Mead's new Vampire Academy spin-off Bloodlines.  So who is your book boyfriend this week ladies? Someone as swoon-worthy as Dimitri can be hard to find...

My Book Boyfriend (Frost)

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie of The Unread Reader. Its a chance to pay homage to the hotties that haunt the pages of the novels we love. The men who stay in our thoughts late at night, who plague us during our long hours at work, who cause us to stare off into the starry night and sigh, because we want them here with us. Yes ladies, its the Book Boyfriend.
~~~
This week's Book Boyfriend is: The Killing Frost from Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry Series :)
Today he is being played by....Hugh Jackman
I picked Hugh Jackman to play Frost...One: his name...Hugh Jackman...just sounds so sexual....say it....Hugh Jackman....*shudders* wooo....it's a total porn star name. Two: Frost just can't be one of the young hotties I favor so much...there's depth and centuries of living that where poor Frost been mistreated and broken....he needs to look the part of a devastatingly handsome, if wounded, sexy man...and who is better than Hugh??? SO he doesn't have silvery-tinsel like hair...I can pretend...
 We kissed, and this time he kissed me back. He balled his hand into my hair, squeezing, feeling the thick hair as I'd felt the silk of his earlier. His lips pressed against my mouth. He turned his shoulders into me, so that I half spilled across one broad shoulder. I opened my mouth the the press of his lips, flicking my tongue, a small wet touch. His mouth opened to me,and the kiss grew. His hand stayed in my hair, but the other hand swept around my waist and spilled me into his lap. He kissed me as if he would eat me from the mouth down. I turned in his arms, sitting more solidly in his lap. It brought a sound low in his throat, and his hands were at my waist lifting me upward so that my legs swung to either side of his and I was suddenly kneeling with a leg on either side of him with the kiss in one unbroken wet line. My bad ankle brushed the seat and I had to come up for a complete breath....Galen recovered first...He applauded and said with and edge of nervous laughter, "On a scale of one to ten, I give it a twelve and all I was doing was watching..."
So...I love Frost. I think he is one of the most attractive and powerful of Merry's men...but the thing is...he's needy. He needs someone to shovel his emotional shit all the time. It's okay to have a little bit of angst in your past, or to have something traumatic happen to you. It makes for better more meaningful relationships when you deal with that past with your partner...but Frost lets his past turn him into a cold, arrogant statue when he doesn't get his way...and THAT is extremely unattractive. He pouts, he questions Merry's decisions, and generally makes life that much more difficult in an already extremely traumatic and violent life. But damn...he sure is pretty...
Frost was handsome in his anger, but he was always handsome. Goddess had made it so that he couldn't be anything else. He was all cheekbones and flawless lines that would make a plastic surgeon cry with envy. Skin like snow, hair like silver frost glittering in moonlight, broad of shoulders, slim of waist, narrow-hipped, lon of leg and arm. Clothed he was handsome; nude he was breathtaking.
He turned to me with his storm grey eyes, laughter still shining in them. The laughter softened the perfection of his face, made him seem more human. I touched my fingertips to his cheek, the lightest of touches. The laughter melted slowly from his face, leaving his eyes serious and full of a tender weight of words unspoken, things not yet done. I stared up into his eyes. They were just grey, not tri-colored like mine and Rhys's, but they were the color of clouds on a rainy day, and like clouds, the colors changed and swirled not with the wind but with his moods. They were a soft grey like the breast of a dove as he lowered his head to kiss me.
My pulse filled my throat so that I couldn't breathe. His lips brushed mine, laying a gentle kiss that trembled against my flash. He raised back fro that one tender movement and we looked into each other's eyes from inches away, and there was a moment of knowing. We'd shared a bed for three months. He'd guarded my safety. I'd introduced him to the twenty-first century. I'd watched the solemn Frost relearn how to smile and laugh. We'd shared a hundred intimacies, dozens of jokes, a thousand new discoveries about the world in general, and none of it had been enough to push ether one of us over the edge. Then suddenly a look in his eyes and a gentle kiss, and it was as if my feelings for him reached critical mass, as if it had only been waiting for one last touch, one last lingering glance, before I know. I loved Frost, and from the startled look on his face as he stared down at me, I think he felt it too.
So. That was Frost...he's one of my favorites of Merry's merry men. He's got a lot going for him, but he's also got some problems. It's a good thing he's got such a great butt and has been learning how to please a girl since before Christianity was what the cool kids were trying. Gotta love little Jackle Frostie! :)
