So despite being underwhelmed my most of Laurell's recent novels, I can't seem to stop reading them. I'm so caught up in the characters that I HAVE to see what happens to them...even though I have been disappointed lately. "Only three days (3 sleeps!) to go until Christmas, what are you hoping to find in your stocking this year? "

Let's see...Well...I would Really REALLY like to get a little Netbook or something in my stocking. My laptop has been broken for like...5 months now. I've been getting by on my home computer and using the school computers in my campus library, but it's complicated and time consuming and I'd just rather have something little and cute to take with me into my boring classes so that I can blog...*cough*...did I say that? Of course I meant study...

Of course, If Mrs. Clause is helping Santa pick out gifts, I wouldn't mind if she dropped off a Holiday Honey for me...like him down there :D

Guns. Definitely guns. There is a reason that they call guns "equalizers". They take big, huge, 300lb men and put them on the same playing field as a tiny little girl like me. If we were, I don't know, sword fighting, or wrestling, or freaking boxing, the heavier, taller opponent has the advantage. I'm not going to lie, I would probably lose if it came down to something physical like that. Guns on the other hand, are quick, beautiful, and deadly. Like me. Or...the supernatural heroine type me. Plus lets try to get the hero from drooling all over me when I whip out a pistol and threaten to shoot his ass...girls with guns=hottttt. 

So what about you guys? What weapons would you choose? I must say I'm partial to Katana's or samurai swords...or anything shiny...lol

I would be practical...I would grab my super sexy...and apparantly Latino...boyfriend who would of course have a baseball bat. Then I would have man power, a man, a bat, and of course...someone to outrun if the zombies over power us...(sorry honey! *waves goodbye*). "If you could shape shift into anything, what would it be?"

Definitely a Phoenix. I've loved them since Fawkes in Harry Potter, and I recently read a series that had them in there...plus I'm kind of a pyro and I love fire...Overall I would just like to be a regular shifter. Absolutely, without a doubt, 100% PIZZA!!! The cheesiness. The deliciousness of sauce, toppings, crust...I am a total pizza junkie!! I could eat pizza every day for a year and never be sick of it! This Week's Question Is:

"Who is the villain you love to hate?" 

Woo that's a tough one. There are two villain's that I can't stand...but at the same time, I love that they are so maliciously evil.These dastardly villains are: Olaf from Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series, and Ashleigh Goodling from J.L. Bryan's Paranormals series. 

 Ashleigh Goodling is not your typical villain...She's a teenage girl after all...but in some ways she is almost worse than your stereotypical bad guy. Ashleigh has the power to infuse her words, touch, and actions with love. This sounds like a great power to have...but you know what they say about power and corrupting...Ashleigh uses her powers to manipulate everyone around her into doing her bidding. Her cold and calculating nature and the way she manipulates everyone without a second thought is so disturbing and awful. These people are helpless to her powers and they are forced to do things against their will, their morals, their sexuality...absolutely anything that Ashleigh wants, she gets...and there's almost no way to stop her because while she's making you do these horrible things, you love her for it.

 Olaf is a serial killer. Our government chooses to look the other way as he plies his trade in third world countries. He's forbidden to "hunt" on American soil...but that doesn't necessarily stop Olaf. One of the creepiest, blood curdling things I've ever read was in Obsidian Butterfly (Book 8 in Anita Blake). Olaf and Anita are trying to kill an immortal, insane vampire...and they have to cut out his heart...Olaf grabs Anita's hand with knife, and uses it to sever all of the arteries...this wasn't the gross part...the part that really sticks with you, is that while he's dismantling a man in a hideously gruesome way...he's looking at Anita with heat in his eyes like he's doing other...more intimate things with her than cutting out a man's heart...then he kisses her...kisses her with the heart's blood pumping on her hands and face....*shudders* It is SO disturbing!

"If you could jump into a time travel machine and it takes you back to when you were a kid, what would your TV be playing then?" 

  Oh Lord...I'm about to embarrass myself big time I think...Well...it really depends on what time of my childhood you travel back to. I'm pretty sure if you hit me around 3 or 4, I would be in my Sonic the Hedgehog phase and be running around everywhere and doing weird things like hedgehog rolls and things... I guess I will tackle this question as regards to school...

In early elementary school and preschool and such, I was quite the tomboy when it came to my TV shows. I had a twin brother, and for some reason we tended to play on the more boyish side of games and shows and such. In addition to Sonic the Hedgehog, I loved Power Rangers. I hated pink, so when my brother and his friends would play, they would make me be pink and I would throw a fit because I wanted to be the red ranger. I guess that's why my FAVORITE show at the time was The Big Bad Beetleborgs...yeah, you read that right...Beetleborgs...It was basically a carbon copy of The Power Rangers, only they turned into mechanical beetles. The girl "Jo" was kickass and actually got to wear red! Steve and I would run to get home after school because it was on RIGHT as we got out so we didn't want to miss the good fight scenes. 

In late elementary school to early middle school, I fell in love with my first(and so far only) anime series.  It was my first girly girl kind of show and I loved everything about it. It was during that weird age when you're first starting to like boys and I definitely had the BIGGEST crush on Tuxedo Mask/ Darien. I told all my friends that I was going to marry a guy named Darien one day, and we would have 5 girls named Serena, Rae, etc (all of the names of the sailor scouts...but I'm drawing a blank right now). The only problem with liking Sailor Moon was that all the girls in my school made fun of it, so I had to watch it and give into my obsession on the down low and couldn't talk about it to other girls or run the risk of being singled out and made fun of like Allie Sinclair....who actually kind of deserved it because she took the Sailor Sceptor to school and hit other girls with it sooo...yeah....on a side note; In high school, my friends and I rediscovered our closeted sailor moon loving selves and would have mini marathons of all the series and we even nicknamed ourselves after the characters...I was Sailor Mars, thank you very much.

I will now kind of geek out and include some pictures from the Sailor Moon series that drove my little elementary school girl mind wild.  I thought Darien was the most swoon-worthy guy ever. I would blush if someone so much as mentioned his name...who would have known you could have a crush on a cartoon? but seriously...I think the reason I wouldn't give any boys the time of day in middle school was because I was secretly comparing them to Darien/Tuxedo Mask and they just couldn't measure up. I suppose my dream guy would still kinda resemble him...and he would of course give me roses and things as well...wow...I'm kind of creeping myself out right now ahaha.

I actually had a lot more TV shows than that...Old school Nickelodeon is one of them...what with Gulla Gulla Island, and The Rugrats, and Hey Arnold. Also Are You Afraid of the Dark...I think that show was my introduction to the Paranormal. So what about you? And also, today I am participating in Thursday's Question of the Day. I'm not sure if this is a meme or not, but Good Choice Reading posted a Thursday question, and I really wanted to answer it...so her I am...with said answer.

Do you have a Book Soul-Mate? Who is it?


I actually have a few book soul mates. The first one is my brother. I can't even count the number of books he's loaned to me that I became obsessed with and never gave back. He used to get mad because he would be reading a series, and then tell me about it, and since I was a much faster reader than him I would usually over take him in a day or two and steal the book he was reading. This happened with the 7th Tower series, the Pendragon Series, and all kinds of Stephen King books.

I also have a Harry Potter soul mate. His name is Gavin and I met him in college. He is the ONLY boy I have ever met who knew as much about Harry Potter as I do. We had these elaborate hour long discussions about how Hogwarts had plumbing, and the sequence of wand motions for spells, and just wizarding history in general. I am ashamed to admit that he actually beat me in the Harry Potter Jeopardy Game that my college hosted last year...it was only by 200 points but I still feel cheated....anyways, I would probably marry the kid if he hadn't had a girlfriend at the time, and he's graduated now so I guess that ship has sailed...*sigh* I guess I'll have to find my Harry elsewhere. 

My third book soul mate is my friend from work, Stephanie. I was SO freaking excited to find out that she likes to read! We had been working together for a while, but we never really talked about books or anything until we both got e-readers and started gushing about how amazing they were and that of course lead to what books we've got on them. And SO one of the greatest bookish relationships was formed! I felt like we spent more time talking about books this summer than working, and she had some great book recommendations! Now that I'm back at school, I feel like I've lost my favorite book-buddy. I live with 8 girls and NONE of them read for fun...totally lame. I seriously miss her so much (Steph if you're reading this I really do! Get on facebook more often so we can chat).

If you could spend the day with your favorite heroine, who would you pick and what would you do?

Hmm...well I'm not really sure. Most of my fantasy day-mates do not include characters of the female nature. OH I've got it! I would hang out with Jacky from the Bloody Jack series. We will flirt with dashing and dangerous men, go diving for pearls and other treasures, and pirate fat merchant ships for the good of the King!! Then, we will drink and be merry, playing fantastic songs of both beauty, comedy, and heartbreak. The poor sailor lads will be so appreciative of out delicate female selves that they will be willing to pay quite a bit to see us sing and dance.  Also, I'll get to meet the fabulous Joseph Jared...the man of my dreams. Jacky can HAVE Jaimy...as long as I get Jared!! (who in my fantasies is ALWAYS played by my Darling...Henry Cavill :) I know I know SORRY I seem to always make it about a hot sexy man...whatever...

Lol...actually....while at a party recently, everyone had to answer a form of this question. I won't tell you that question cause it's a little more risque...but my answers still fit for this question. First and foremost, I would have to say :

Emma Stone

She's quirky, funny, and pretty much all around awesome. I've loved her in everything I've ever seen her in, from Superbad to Zombieland to Crazy Stupid Love. And she's one who has finally convinced me to trade my blond locks in for red ones *gasp* I just love her sense of humor and the fact that she's not a crazy party chick like others her age...*cough* Lindsay Lohan *cough*  Definitely girl-crush material right there. 

Also...I'm not going to lie I definitely had a major girl-crush on another actress last year. I saw her on the CW and she totally has the spy-girl-sexy thing going on. She can look good in a catsuit or just...erm leather...so who am I talking about??

Maggie Q

This chick's so awesome she doesn't even need a full last name...just an initial. Girlfriend's got it going ON as you can see from that pic. Seriously, if you could fix my face onto her body I would be happy forever and ever and ever. I haven't seen her in anything but the CW's Nikita, but I would definitely check out anthing she's in. I totally love Maggie!

I absolutely adore Jenks from Kim Harrison's The Hollows series. He's sarcastic, irreverent, and totally bad-ass. He's always got Rachel's back and I love all his comments about Tinkerbell being a Disney whore...he would be an excellent sidekick.He's got such a foul mouth that he'd make other pixie's ears bleed. Love him!

But since Rachel Morgan already has him as a sidekick, I'll have to have someone who looks like Chris Pine, is snarky, witty, and knows how to save my ass when I get into tons of trouble...which I'm bound to do now and then...

"The cougar is in town...Which YA hero makes you wish they were legal?"

Wow that is a tough one...I've been reading a lot of YA lit these days and I've fallen in love with quite a few hot pieces of jail bait over the last few weeks. I don't think I can pick just one so I will go with my top few...

Honorable Mention: Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. I liked him in the books, but that's nothing to how I have fallen for him in the TV series. Such a sexy vamp...but then again since he's technically hundreds of years old, is he under-age still?? He's the dangerous bad boy that you can't help but fall for, even knowing that it could be the last thing you do.

Runner-up would have to be Jay Heaton from Kimberly Derting's The Body Finder series. He and Violet have been friends since childhood and he's the rugged and woodsy boy next door. You can't help but fall for that gorgeous head of wavy blonde hair, a body built by sports, and a smile that could melt the Himalayas.

Alright, for those of you who don't know him, my darling Etienne (from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins) lives in France, speaks at least two languages, has an English accent,  and is probably the hottest 17-year-old I've ever felt pervy feelings towards. His carefully "sleep touseled" hair, the fact that he's confident enough to wear ugly hats and actually being able to pull them off, and his witty, hilarious banter bumps him to the top of my cougar-worthy boys.
