Sadness and longing grip him as he finds a blood-spattered room and Erin is nowhere to be found.
Alone in a strange city with nothing to go on can Gerry find and save Erin? Or is this the end of something never meant to be?
Her past has caught up with her and he's her only hope.
With a group of trusted friends Gerry takes on the impossible and gives everything to save Erin.
Mom, Partner, Kids: What do the folks in your life think of you being a writer/the books you write?
All the people are supportive of my writing. Although my wife has never read one of my finished novels, she has trudged through the first drafts and after doing that I don’t think I could ask for anymore. She’s supportive and gives me the space to do what I enjoy. She even sent me a picture from Borders the other day of my books on the shelf.
My kids, all grown, always say their dad is an author long before they will ever mention I’m a web designer for the army. Let’s face it writing books is far more interesting. Although my daughter's first comment after reading Capital Thirst was, “Daaaaaad, ugh there was sex.” Even with that they’ve told everyone they know, friends, coworkers, or whoever about the books and I think they are my best marketing tool. When I released Capital Thirst my son even sent a group text to his entire fraternity. Now 18 to 21-year-old boys weren't exactly my target audience. Some read it and loved it. I figured he must have been proud to share it like that.
My parents both love the books and like my kids, I think, are prouder that I’ve written them than of my full-time job. Honestly, the biggest surprise was my Dad who I thought wouldn’t like them, but he’s constantly asking when the next one will be out because he wants to know what happens next. I’ve never known him to be a big reader my whole life, but he reads the books in a couple days and always asks a million questions.
So on the whole they are super supportive and just plain think it’s cool I’m a writer.
What always surprises me is the reaction that friends have to the book. I think most of them read it because we’re friends and they feel obligated. But I get the same response and it makes me laugh and smile. It goes something like this, “I thought I would have to say I liked it, just because we’re friends, but I loved it. When’s the next one coming out? I never knew you could do that.”
Overall, the reaction by everyone that knows me is so positive. I was worried when I released Capital Thirst about what people would think and how they would react, but it’s been a great experience. Plus, it’s a new topic of conversation because now people want to know what’s next, where I come up with the ideas, did I base a character on them. The list goes on.
Just as a side not since I mentioned it. Capital Thirst has two sex scenes. I know some people may find that uncomfortable. Since none of the following books do, I'm going to re-release Capital Thirst sometime this year as a PG version. Those scenes will be there, but I’ll leave everything up to the reader to envision however they want.
~Try an Excerpt!~As he stood there staring, he couldn’t accept that Erin was gone. Now he was the sole person who could save her. Turning, he left his thoughts of Erin behind with the house. He started down over the grass, with no specific destination in mind. He just wanted to wander with his thoughts, trying to clear his mind and determine what the next course of action was.
He couldn’t do anything until Vernon arrived. He hoped Vernon would have some insight about what was going on. These were his people.
Whatever was going on was serious. A life and death matter. The way her bedroom appeared told him that much. Whoever took her wasn’t messing around.
Before Gerry could return to his thoughts, he ran out of lawn. A wrought-iron fence lined with towering, thin cypress trees blocked his path. The fence itself was about ten feet high. “So, there is a limit to her property,” he said out loud.
“Helloooo?” A woman’s voice broke through Gerry’s thoughts like an ice pick splitting a block of ice. “Is someone there?”
R.W. will be awarding a Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.a Rafflecopter giveawayI love a good paranormal read, something about the un-dead haunts the fringes of my mind. Mix in romance, love, loss, and you have a great story.
I voraciously read everything, fiction, and non-fiction but always find myself turning back to the darker stories. I’ve always wanted to write and the dream became a reality with Capital Thirst, and the remainder of the Erin Kingsly novels.
I spend most of my days designing and building websites, but my free time is devoted to my wife, family, and cats. Yes three grown children and three cats. Things can be hectic.
For fun you might find me driving winding roads with the top down or out photographing nature.
The title alone tells me I can expect an exciting read.

Dd you have to do lots of research for your book?
ReplyDeleteIt depends and there are different types of research as well. I read everything vampire I can get my hands on, follow vampire fan sites and even have a copy of the Vampire Encyclopedia, so I've done due diligence there.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I would like to travel to the locations of my novels that's not always an option. So first I generally pick places I've been in my life. I've visited LA and Hollywood many times and even done the Beverly Hills tour thing. But mostly now I use the internet. Google Street View is a huge help as well as the satellite images on Google.
Since all of my novels are contemporary I don't have historical type of research to do for the most part, except for Erin's past. Since she's 300 years old and grew up in Russia of the Czars, there was a good bit of research in building her background.
So there you go. I hope that answers your question.
