Synopsis:
Decadence, freedom and illegal activities…Everything a sheltered debutante in the mid-1920s could want. When Hyde Park socialite Susan Leland meets up with Evan Forrester for the second time, she makes no excuses for their first meeting—an auto accident in which she broke the young artist’s wrist. She finds the handsome Evan both infuriating and intriguing, yet not quite as intriguing as sultry torch singer Holly Winters, a performer at Susan’s favorite supper club. A chance to make amends…

By posing nude for Evan to paint. When Susan balks, Evan, not wanting to deal with an innocent, sends her away but not before the arrival of his next model, Holly Winters. As Susan’s preparing to leave, the beautiful and talented singer convinces her to come back the next day—so they can pose together.
~The Perfect Recipe for a Ménage à Trois ~
Ingredients:

1 – Super sexy, tortured artist hero
1 – Inexperienced, yet eager, heroine
1 – Sultry, honey and whiskey voiced torch singer of mixed race
1 – Plan to have the women pose together … naked

 Directions:

1.      Take one restless debutante from the right side of the tracks who longs for something more than high society;
2.      Stir in a steaming-hot, uninhibited entertainer;
3.      Simmer together until the steam rises;
4.      Add in a patient, but horny, man;
5.      Mix thoroughly and watch carefully … something’s definitely going to explode!

According to Mr. Webster:
mé·nage à trois  noun \-ä-ˈt(r)wä\
: an arrangement in which three people have sex with each other especially while living together

My thoughts:

If only it were that simple. When I began writing The Muse, my first concern was ‘how do I get a fairly innocent young woman to agree to a threesome’? She’s barely had sex with a man. Introducing another woman into the mix might be tricky.

Not if you start with the woman. Make her mysterious, alluring, downright sexy and, most importantly, irresistible. Especially to an innocent who longs to spread her wings and explore her untapped sexuality.
The artist hero then became the protagonist, the instigator of the eventual seduction. I gave them backstory, a reason for the heroine to feel indebted to the hero and, therefore, agree to pose for him. When things go awry, he rejects her, sends her away but not before the arrival of his next model, the sultry singer. Already drawn to the talented woman, our heroine welcomes her invitation to return the next day to pose together.

From that point on, my muse took over, and the story nearly wrote itself.

Among the many things I needed to research for the 1920’s was the language of love. Or, more precisely, the accurate naming of body parts. Exactly what did they call a woman’s private parts in 1924? Some of the results were hilarious and I share them willingly in the story.

Another interesting tidbit I found was an article from earlier this year about a man who stabbed another man because he refused to change positions during a M/M/F threesome. This happened in Fargo, ND. No offence intended, Fargo, but you’re obviously a far more interesting place than I’d imagined!

If I had to explain to either a reader or another writer what makes the perfect threesome, I’d start with partners of like desires. Everyone, even those who are new to the idea, have to be agreeable. This is true, I’m sure, in real life and should also be true in an erotic romance.

Secondly, they should be willing to share and share alike. No cheating your partners out of orgasms! The more the merrier!

Third, would be honesty among the participants. What works, and what doesn’t. Not everyone is going to have the same responses. If it’s not working for you, speak up. The idea here is pleasure … pure and simple (well, maybe not so simple).

I approach every book I write in the same way, whether it’s a sexy romance or an erotic one. The hero, heroine, and even the mutual partner deserve a happy ending … and not just in the bedroom.

To me, and hopefully to my readers, the romance is the thing. A ménage is just a sexier way to get there!
~Try an Excerpt!~
Susan Leland handed her fox stole to the scantily dressed coat-check girl, took possession of the claim stub, and tucked it into her clutch. Off in the distance, she heard the smooth tones of jazz music, the clink and clatter of fine china and fancy glassware, the raucous laughter of the well-heeled patrons as they dined in elegance and gossiped about their friends and neighbors.

“Good evening, Miss Leland.”

“Good evening, Andre. Is Mr. Adams here yet?”

“No, but Mr. Carlson arrived a few moments ago. I seated him at your usual spot.”

Susan wound her way through the richly adorned tables until she reached the far side of the large stage. “Hello, Steven.”

Steven Carlson stood, captured Susan’s hand in his, pressed a quick kiss to her fingertips and then waited while she accepted the chair Andre pulled out for her.

“Hi, Susie-Q. You look absolutely ravishing, as always.”

“Thank you. You’re pretty well turned out yourself, for someone who’s spent his entire day behind a desk, pushing a pencil over some stuffy legal papers.”

“It’s called a job, Susan,” Steven replied sarcastically. “You should try it some time.”

“I do work,” she insisted. “I volunteer three days a month at the home for the aged. And, I’m thinking about writing a book, a tawdry little novel about a woman who falls in love with an absolute cad. I’ll call him Steven.” Not expecting a response, she glanced toward the door and asked, “Any idea how long we’ll have to wait for Will this evening?”

Steven turned as she had, scanning the large dining room. “Knowing Will, it’s likely he’s just now leaving his friend’s apartment on the north side.”

She settled back into her chair. The revelation that the young man she’d known since their teenage years had been hiding a huge secret from her sat uncomfortably on her shoulders. “Is he doing all right since his family turned him out?”

“He’s doing fine. Justin is a good man and won’t let any harm come to Will.”

For as long as their illicit liaison lasts. Susan pursed her lips, holding in the first thought that came to mind.
~Meet Nancy!~
Like most authors, Nancy Fraser began writing at an early age, usually on the walls and with crayons or, heaven forbid, permanent markers. Her love of writing often made her the English teacher’s pet, which, of course, resulted in a whole lot of teasing. Still, it was worth it.

When not writing (which is almost never), Nancy dotes on her five beautiful grandchildren and looks forward to traveling and reading when time permits. Nancy lives in Atlantic Canada where she enjoys the relaxed pace and colorful people.
