~Guest Post ~
I want to talk about why I created "The Connolly Affair" and what I hope readers will get out of it. This book series is going to top out at just under 1,000 pages. Book one came in at about 380. Book 2 I'm nearly done with is about 300. And book 3 will be similar to book 2. I can honestly say that this trilogy has been a huge amount of fun for me to write. I will start at the beginning.

"The Connolly Affair" was created because my wife challenged me to write this genre (romance). I know she loves thrillers so I decided to write a romance-suspense story that had numerous chilling and thrilling moments embedded in it. Because I used to have fun with her when she read romance novels, she pushed me to write something great in the genre. I read some of the "50 Shades" books and got a point of reference. It wasn't a genre I was familiar with (in all honesty.) I have written a lot of material, books, screenplays and TV shows, and I've had love and romance as a centerpiece in many stories. But never did I delve in such detail. I visited numerous blogs on sexually thinking like a woman. Down to blogs that were highlighted by sexual stimulation and masturbation. It was definitely enlightening for me and wasn't what I learned in Sex Ed.. So it was a great education for the book and me personally and only enhanced the realism of Nicki Connolly and really took the POV of many every day women who blogged about their lives. Truly multiple perspectives was important.

Knowing my wife is critical and enjoys good books, I pushed myself to create a fun, passionate, romantic and suspenseful story that centered around a strong female central character. Nicki Connolly is a mom in a dull marriage. Things aren't going well at home. She also is a very bright attorney who worked her way up to partner at her law firm. She balances both work and family. She has two young girls who she is dying to spend more time with. But her job, in particular a big class action lawsuit she is leading, is taking precedence in her life. The lawsuit was initiated by Nicki on behalf of her cousin (who was like a sister to her) and her cousin's daughter; both of whom are sick by the neglect of a big food processing plant near their town. Nicki must stay strong for them (and the rest of the town) while her husband doesn't like Nicki being pulled away from the family. It causes him to dial back his construction business and be the primary caretaker of his daughters. This frustrates him and creates further friction in their marriage.

I love having a strong female character as my centerpiece. She is the driving force of "The Connolly Affair" and a voice I loved writing. No spoilers here, just know that the themes of marriage, love, family and the challenges of intense passion and suspense take center stage in an awesomely entertaining three books (I can definitely vouch for it...book 2 is amazing and complete and book 3 is well laid out).

In this, the first steps of this release, I hope the readers check out this series and see where this amazing story heads. I believe passionately in this trilogy and am very proud to deliver it to everyone around the world.

See, everything new became old. Everything special became ordinary. I’d love to blame him for my betrayals, but mirrors are all too honest. And there was no way around it. I made this choice.

But even so, it is hard to fathom happiness, evaporating like a water droplet on a blistering hot day. And that’s what happened. Our spark was gone, our flame had dulled.

And there it was. I had a wonderfully honest and kind husband, I had two amazing children, I was a partner at my law firm, and in a single fall moment I risked it all.
