Title: Finding Mr. Right Now
Synopsis:
Monica McKellar, associate producer of Finding Mr. Right, is desperate. One of the show’s bachelors has bailed one week before shooting starts. She not only needs a replacement ASAP, he has to get the temperamental bachelorette's stamp of approval.
Fortunately there’s a hot guy right under her nose who’s a perfect fit. Unfortunately, he pushes all her hot buttons. Until the show’s over, her hands—and every other part of her body—are tied. When Paul Dewitt signed on to write for the reality show, “Bachelor #10” wasn’t supposed to be in his job description. He fully expects to be cut early on, which will free him to focus on the real object of his attraction. Monica.
Instead, he’s a finalist, and they’re all packed in an SUV climbing the Continental Divide, headed for Salt Box, Colorado. Where stampeding horses, vindictive tabloid editors, and one capricious bachelorette’s waffling over suitors may conspire to end Paul and Monica’s romance before it even starts.

~My Thoughts~
First, let me put aside my Feminist angst about reality shows A-la the Bachelorette and Bachelor. As I am not a fan of the insane, hair-pulling, back-stabbing escapades that you can find from these shows, I approached Finding Mr. Right with a casual hopefulness that at least reading about a reality show wouldn't be as bad as watching one.
Luckily, the show isn't really about the reality show...rather it's about producer Monica and how she's falling in love with a reluctant contestant for Mr. Right. Paul was hilarious, especially the scenes where he is coerced into being on the show, despite being only there to be a writer. (Thinking of that...would it be legal to have one of the show's employees competing in the actual contest...I think not...possible plot-hole?) I found myself giggling at the predicament and many laugh-worthy moments ensued...as well as some pretty steamy ones that made me glad I was reading on a Kindle and didn't have to elaborate to those around me in public!
The setting was great, as the mountains of Colorado can be a very romantic place, and at least they seemed to suit the reality show well. We were treated to some fantastic scenes involving nature and the backdrop of being in Colorado gave it a woodsy and homey feel to boost that romantic ambiance. There was a quaint feel to Salt Box that helped you get into the romantic mood and enjoy yourself despite the thought of trashy bachelorettes trying to ruin a romance!
This is a very light, quick, summer romance to make you feel good. It's a classic beach read, or porch read that just begs for some lemonade and a hot summer night with the crickets, pigeons, or cicadas, depending on your locale, to be making their racket while you enjoy a sweet, casual romantic read.

She had no
idea what to say after an experience like that. Was it good for you suddenly
seemed like a supremely dumb question.
Paul’s lips
whispered across her forehead. “Don’t go all silent on me, Monica. I need to
know what you’re thinking here.”
She blew out
a quick breath. “Um…whoa?”
He chuckled
against her hair. “Okay, that pretty much sums it up I guess.” He leaned back
against the side of the couch, shifting his weight, pulling her up against his
body again. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to squash you.”
“You didn’t.”
She ran her fingertips along his cheek, staring at his face in the shadows, the
angles and hollows made stark in the dim light.
“Talk to me,”
he said softly.
“I don’t…”
She shook her head. “What do you want me to say?”
“How you
feel, what you think.”
She narrowed
her eyes. “Are you usually this talkative after sex?”
He frowned
slightly, his brows drawing together. “Not that I recall, no. I just…I like to
hear your voice.” He brought her hand to his mouth, pressing his lips against
her fingers. “Particularly now. I can’t really see you here, so I need to hear
you.”
Her lips
curved into a smile, almost against her will. “I feel lovely, considering that
I should be freezing and squashed and I’m not. And I think that was insane.”
His brows
came together. “Insane good or insane crazy?”
The smile
widened. “Both.”
He laughed
softly. “But memorable, right?”
“Very
memorable. And very insane.”
