The Book of Phinn Blog Tour!

Hey, Phinn here.

I'm an Angel.  A 16 year old immortal.  You don't know me.  You've never seen me.  Unless you're a dead teenager and you've been good and live in Southern California (narrows it down, huh?).  If that's the case, we've probably met.  See, I take the souls of good kids to Heaven, but I'm not allowed to interact with the living...which makes high school, being on the soccer team and writing for the school newspaper a little difficult.  As an angel, I play by the rules.

My "arch-frenemy" Iszn, the demon who takes the bad kids to Hell, breaks all the rules...which is why he's one of the most popular kids in school.  Iszn's hobbies are football, human girls, football, torturing me, football and evil....did I mention football?

Anyway, as an Angel I try not to have any direct contact with humans...well, that is until I met this girl.  Actually, until she met me...it's kind of complicated.  That's one of the reasons I write my blog...to let you guys in on a world you probably didn't even know existed...until it's too late, anyway.

But this world does exist, and it's about to get complicated.  There are some deaths we can't explain and only Iszn and I seem to want to get to the bottom of them.  It's going to cost us...a lot, but we can't let it go.

So ya, enjoy the blog...comment if you want.  I read all the comments and try to respond.  And don't let Iszn freak you out...to my knowledge, he's never actually eaten anyone's face.

Cya inside :)

Try an Excerpt!
He’s been dead for 2 minutes.
 Iszn is late, as usual.
I’ve been following this one for awhile, so I knew I’d be here when he finally did it.That’s his blood he’s laying in. His name is (was) Lucas, Lucas McCaleb. He was 16, that’s the middle of my target age range…my ‘flock’ if you want to call them that. 14 to 18.
My Given-name is Aphinnauel, a mouthful, huh?
...but Phinn, that’s what my friends call me.‘My Friends,’ haha…I say that like I have a bunch of them. I only have two, actually, Iszn, who is also my mortal enemy, and Caliel, who is really more of a mentor than a friend.
I turn my attention back toward Lucas. He’s lying on the floor of the bathroom, his wrists slit, covered in blood and surrounded by steam from the shower. I’m perched on the side of the tub, with my laptop. I’ve put the toilet seat down so Iszn will have a place to sit when he finally shows up.
I’ve been neglecting my blog lately, so I’m just taking these few quiet moments to update it. Welcome to my blog, by the way. I’ve just moved it over from BLOGMONSTER, because I hated the format over there and they kept losing my archives. I’ll move the old posts over here when I get a chance. So, anyway, welcome to my new readers, and welcome back to my old ones…glad you found me.Lucas should be coming round any minute now. He’s been dead for almost 5 minutes…that’s about how long it usually takes people to figure it out. …and there it is.
Lucas sits up. Well, his body doesn’t move, he’s WAY past that point. But he…I mean his soul, sits up. It looks basically the same as he did before he died…a little less pale, maybe, and none of the little chin hairs he thought were cool when he was alive. He looks around, down at his body. The usual look of terror doesn’t register on his face, I guess because he’s a suicide. I mean, really, what was he expecting?I haven’t Revealed myself yet, so he can’t see me. I mean I’m non-corporeal right now (like invisible), but so is he...well his soul, anyway. Even though we’re both on the same page, I have a certain amount of control over who can see me…and how they see me.I don’t like to freak them out…Iszn does, however. Speaking of which, suddenly the room starts to stink…he’s so showy.  I’ll check back with you guys in a bit…gotta log and deal with this.

Meet the Author: Frank Anjankos!
Frank Anjakos lives in the Wild West, where he avoids writing about anything Western. Upon graduation from college in Michigan he was unwilling to get a real job, and so went to law school at the University of Arizona, where he studied listlessly, overcome by the desert heat, and obtained a law degree in the usual amount of time. After recovering from the stifling law school style of writing, he returned to his true passion, fiction…both writing and living it. Coerced by his son Finn, he turned away from adult science fiction and began writing children’s books. Now, if he could just get his son to actually read one.

Frank will be giving away a 25$ Starbucks Giftcard to a lucky follower, so if you want your coffee and delicious frappichinos, get commenting to win!

  2. WOW...Someone wants to turn The Book of Phinn into a screenplay? Cool. Death, angels, and high school? It's sure to be a hit! The cover is haunting...beautiful. I see that Phinn is your hero and you have a son named Finn. Coincidence?

  3. Hey Catherine,

Not a coincidence at all!! My son is 11 and when he was small I used to spend A LOT of time telling him stories. He is the one who got me to write them down, which led to me getting back into creative writing.

I picture Phinn looking like my Finn when he gets to be a teenager, lol..probably not exactly an angel but he's a really good kid :)

I hope you get a chance to read the book and thanks so much for checking it out!
