Follow Friday and Book Blogger Hop

It's Follow Friday! One of my favorite Weekly meme's, hosted by the fabulous Parajunkee.

Q. Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?

Well let's see. I tend to not finish books that I have had problems with. There just isn't a lot of time for me to be reading what I consider bad books. However, before I was a book blogger, I would NEVER not finish a book. I would be feeling REALLY guilty if I didn't, and I always felt bad if I got tired of a series or something because I wouldn't know how the characters ended up. That being said, there were two books that I absolutely did not like in the last 6 months or so. I had no idea what was going on in both of them, the characters were sketchy and un-likeable, and I had to literally force myself to finish Both Slice of Cherry by Dia Reeves, and Fade to Blue by Sean Beaudoin

They were both odd in their own ways. Fade to Blue just had to many characters and plot changes (changes, not twists...one minute you were watching a basketball game, the next the entire school was zombies, the next, everyone was normal again and there was an ice cream truck chasing you...) and then Slice of Cherry just wasn't good. The plot was confusing, the town and monsters weren't depicted well, and the characterization was just annoying.

It is also time for the Book Blogger Hop from Crazy-for-books!
And...This week, it's GIVEAWAY WEEK!
Book Blogger Hop

Every site participating is putting a link to a different giveaway around the blogosphere. SO I will have to tell you all that there is a fabulous giveaway going on at Bitten By Books. There is a LIVE interview with author Rhiannon Frater, and the chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card! That's right a  FIFTY DOLLAR gift card...who wouldn't want to win? Well, I want to win so you can not enter if you'd like :P

  1. Hi Andrea!

I like your review style. It's cute, funny, descriptive. I didn't like Fade to Blue either. It was too weird. I like weird, but I was starting to get a slight headache while reading it. And that giveaway? Freaking awesome!

New follower. Hopping by on the blog hop.

  3. Yikes, I have not heard of either of these books but I know what you mean with books that have plots leaving you going "HUH??" Lol, that was how I felt about Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, the book I chose for this week's FF!

I'm a new follower by the way! You can see my FF post for this week at the link below. Have a great weekend!

  5. I salute all the brave souls that soldier on to finish a bad book. I could never do that. I never have and I can’t imagine I ever will.

This week’s Follow Friday question is an excellent companion to last week’s Book Blogger Hop question.

Follow me back to my blog and read all about why I hardly ever start a bad book let alone finish one – http://www.howardsherman.net

Read both my Book Blogger Hop post last week and my Follow Friday post this week and you’ll get the bigger picture of how my mind works. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! [grin]

    Thank G-d It’s Follow Friday!

  10. Hi found you on book hounds. I'm in the middle of a book I don't like now. I'm wondering if I should give another few pages or put it in the recycle bin.
